About me

I'm a fused and stained glass artist, and I teach fused glass workshops from my studio in a small rural village just outside of Milton Keynes.

My journey into the world of glass began quite by accident in 2018. My husband had booked me a pottery course, but when I couldn’t attend, I swapped it for a full-day fused glass workshop instead — and that was it! I was completely hooked. I couldn’t wait to do another class, and that excitement has never left me. Even now, I still love going on courses to explore new skills and techniques in glass.

There’s just something magical about glass — the incredible range of colours, textures, and effects, the way it sparkles in the light, and how the colours come alive when sunlight shines through. I love the thrill of opening the kiln to see what’s happened inside — it’s like Christmas morning every time! It's not unusual to catch me running down the garden in my pyjamas, eager to see if a piece turned out the way I imagined.

Inspiration is everywhere. I often see something I love — a flower, a colour combination, a moment in nature — and immediately wonder, "Could I make that in glass?" The changing seasons, organic forms, natural textures, or even a particular art style often find their way into my work.

Glass is endlessly fascinating, and I feel incredibly lucky to share my passion — both through the pieces I create and the students I teach.

What do I offer?

I spend my time creating pieces that I truly love — and then hope that someone else loves them enough to take them home! Because of this, I rarely make large batches of the same design. Each piece is unique, but I'm always happy to recreate a design just for you if you've seen something you like.

I also run fused glass workshops from my cosy garden studio, just outside of Milton Keynes. These are small, friendly sessions where I can give everyone plenty of support. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, I’ll guide you step-by-step so you can create a beautiful piece to treasure.

If you'd like to try your hand at making your own fused glass art, sign up to my email newsletter to stay updated on upcoming workshops, dates, and special events.

I also happily accept commissions — whether it's a personalised version of one of my existing designs, or something completely bespoke, made just for you.

About fused glass

Fused glass art (also known as kiln-formed glass) is a fascinating blend of science and creativity. Glass can be cut into shapes, crushed into grains or powder (called frit), or even turned into paint. These elements are then layered together and heated in a kiln, where they fuse into beautiful artworks — from vivid pictures to sculptural forms.

The effects you can achieve depend on the temperature. The hotter the kiln, the smoother the texture: lower temperatures create more texture and sparkle, while higher temperatures result in glossy, flat finishes. You can also add interest using micas, metals, and other inclusions. Once fused, the glass can be shaped further by slumping or draping it over moulds.

Fused glass is incredibly versatile. As well as creating standalone art, I also make practical items like bowls, coasters, and jewellery — turning everyday objects into unique pieces of art.

I primarily work with Bullseye, a specialist glass designed for fusing. Each piece is heated and cooled at carefully controlled rates to ensure strength and stability — a process that can take over 24 hours. Many pieces are fired multiple times in the kiln to build up layers, textures, and effects.
