This enchanting butterfly is made from a beautiful multicoloured glass, combining pinks, purples, blues and green, the body is an iridescent black. The butterfly is surrounded by a subtly iridescent clear glass, which really makes the butterfly stand out, the heart is edged in a deep royal blue, which picks up some of the blue tones in the butterfly. The stained glass artwork has been crafted using the Tiffany style. Each piece of glass is carefully cut to fit together precisely like a jigsaw puzzle, then wrapped in copper foil before being soldered. The heart is then edged in lead came. After assembly, patina is applied, and the piece is polished with wax to enhance its finish. It hangs from a fine silver chain.
