5-Week Beginner's Glass Fusing Course
16 September – 14 October

Discover the creative world of glass fusing in this relaxed and friendly 5-week beginner's course. You'll learn the essential techniques of kiln-formed glass while creating a range of beautiful pieces to take home.
Suitable for complete beginners, this course is designed to give you a solid introduction to glass fusing, with plenty of individual guidance in a welcoming studio environment. Working with a wide selection of Bullseye sheet glass and decorative glass elements, you'll develop confidence while learning new skills and techniques.
With a maximum of six students, you'll receive personalised tuition tailored to your experience and creative interests.
What you'll learn
During the course you'll explore:
Cutting glass safely and accurately
Glass compatibility
Glass design principles
The effects of temperature and kiln firing schedules
Tack fusing
Full fusing
Slumping
What you'll create
Throughout the course you'll make:
A free-standing S-bend using the tack-fusing technique and a variety of decorative glass elements.
Two full-fused tiles:
One using a hard-edge design.
One featuring glass elements and metal inclusions.
These can be displayed as artwork, used as coasters, framed, or hung as suncatchers.
You'll also design and create a final project of your own choice, with guidance and support throughout.
What's included
Your course fee includes:
Friendly, personalised tuition throughout the course.
Small class sizes (maximum of 6 students).
Use of studio tools and equipment.
All glass, materials and kiln firings required for the S-bend and two tiles.
Tea and coffee.
Your final project
Materials, glass and kiln firing for your final project are not included in the course fee. These can be purchased directly from me, or I can recommend suppliers if you prefer to source your own materials.
Please note that all projects must be made using Bullseye glass to ensure compatibility.
Continue your glass fusing journey
Once you've completed this course, you'll be invited to join my ongoing 5-week studio sessions at the reduced price of £175 per block.
These sessions run every half term and are perfect for anyone who would like to continue developing their skills. You'll have the opportunity to work on projects of your own choice, learn new techniques and experiment with different ideas, all with support and guidance in a friendly studio setting.
Please note that glass, materials and kiln firings are not included in these follow-on sessions.
